Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to manage project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting for large-scale EPC Civil Building construction projects. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in project planning tools, cost control, and coordination with site and office teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project / Primavera P6 for all phases of the building construction project.
- Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), project calendars, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress, evaluate deviations, and prepare variance, delay, and productivity analysis reports.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress and prepare corresponding MIS reports for management.
- Coordinate with site execution teams, procurement, engineering, and subcontractors for planning and resource alignment.
- Identify critical paths, potential delays, and risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support budgeting and cost control activities including resource forecasting, quantity tracking, and cash flow preparation.
- Review construction drawings, project specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to incorporate accurate planning inputs.
- Participate in progress review meetings with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure that project plans are aligned with contractual milestones, project scope, and approved timelines.
- Coordinate extension-of-time (EOT) documentation and support claim preparation when required.
- Assist in preparing project presentations, dashboards, and progress charts for management review.
Skills & Competencies Required:
- Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 / MS Project
- Proficiency in planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control
- Understanding of EPC Civil Building construction methodology
- Strong analytical skills & ability to interpret project data
- Excellent communication & coordination skills
- Knowledge of contract basics, billing cycles, and project documentation
- Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams
