JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Planning Engineer, an essential position that bridges the gap between project conception and execution in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, and energy. The scope of this dynamic role extends from initial project design, through scheduling and cost estimation, to monitoring progress and making real-time adjustments to maintain project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to define project scope and objectives
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders
  • Assist in budgeting and resource allocation decisions
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and adherence to schedules
  • Analyze project data to identify trends and improve future project planning
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
  • Use project management software to track and report project timelines
  • Develop contingency plans to address delays and disruptions
  • Review and approve project plans developed by subcontractors
  • Facilitate communication between different project teams

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience in construction or engineering projects
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of local and international construction standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project planning or management
  • Proficient in project management tools and software
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and construction processes
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and generate insights
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in construction
  • Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach
