Planning Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our project controls team supporting high-value construction and interior fit-out projects across the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project programmes, supporting EOT claims, and ensuring project delivery milestones are met in coordination with consultants and main contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
• Prepare baseline schedules, progress updates, and recovery programmes
• Monitor project progress against approved baselines and report variances
• Prepare and support Extension of Time (EOT) claims, delay analysis, and contemporaneous records
• Coordinate with site teams, consultants, and main contractors on programme matters
• Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and KPI dashboards
• Assist in cost loading, resource allocation, and earned value management (EVM)
• Review subcontractor programmes and ensure alignment with the master schedule
• Support commercial and contracts teams with programme-related dispute resolution

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in planning/project controls in the UAE or GCC
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory) and MS Project
• Strong knowledge of EOT claim preparation and delay analysis methodologies (Windows Analysis, As-Planned vs As-Built)
• Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions
• Experience working with main contractors, consultants, or specialist subcontractors in the UAE/GCC
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in interior fit-out, MEP, or specialist subcontracting environments
• Knowledge of NEC or JBCC contracts in addition to FIDIC
• Planning-related certifications (PMI-SP, AACE, or similar)
• Arabic language skills are an advantage
