We, Emarat Aloula Contracting is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our dynamic project team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and scheduling for Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), Odour Control Systems, and other infrastructure and utilities projects within the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules while ensuring timely project delivery and effective resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning software.
- Prepare baseline schedules, recovery plans, look-ahead schedules, and progress reports.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify potential delays and risks.
- Analyze project performance and recommend corrective and preventive actions to maintain project timelines.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, manpower histograms, and earned value analysis.
- Review project scope, specifications, BOQs, and drawings to develop accurate work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Monitor procurement, material deliveries, engineering activities, and construction progress to ensure schedule compliance.
- Participate in project planning meetings and provide planning support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in preparing extension of time (EOT) claims, delay analysis, and mitigation plans when required.
- Ensure compliance with client, consultant, and contractual planning requirements.
Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant UAE experience as a Planning Engineer.
- Proven experience in Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) and/or Odour Control Systems is highly preferred.
- Experience in Infrastructure and Utilities Projects is a strong advantage.
- Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, resource loading, critical path analysis (CPA), and project controls.
- Ability to prepare project reports, S-curves, cash flow forecasts, and progress measurement reports.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and project planning best practices is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities with multidisciplinary teams.
