Purpose of Job
Jobholders at this level are experienced professionals capable of conducting work with general directions. They are primarily concerned with developing solutions to challenges which require some analysis to understand and resolve, and addressing issues escalated from junior levels. They undertake complex operational activities including advising taxpayers on application and interpretation of Saudi tax treaties, participating in international tax forums/meetings/committees, coordinating on international taxation policiesâ setting, and coordinating with KSA government entities on BEPS agreements.
Job Responsibilities
International Taxation Management

Stay up to date on all international tax policies and global trends

Support International Treaties function in developing KSA tax treaty model
-
Support International Relations function in identifying list of international tax organizations and countries to cooperate with, and in evaluating feasibility impact and benefits of prospect relationship

Coordinate with relevant ZATCA functions to understand recent practices and challenges with respect to tax treaties application to handle tax treaty administration

Provide advice to domestic and foreign taxpayers on application and interpretation of Saudi tax treaties and respective provisions of Saudi tax law

Formulate and negotiate KSA positions on international tax policy issues for the best interest of KSA

Participate in relevant international tax forums (i.e., MENA Tax Forum), meetings (i.e., WP2, WP6, TFDE, FHTP, WP9, WP11, FTA Plenary, CFA, ATAIC), and committees to strengthen current relations and build networks

Prepare briefing packs and discussion points for the Minister of Finance and Assistant Minister for G20 meetings

Coordinate with OECD and G20 on all matters related to international taxation policies setting

Represent KSA in BEPS meetings and assist in BEPS global initiatives’ setting to stop tax evasions on a global level

Assist in the negotiation of MOUs/ agreements related to the implementation of BEPS initiatives in KSA

Communicate BEPS agreements with KSA governmental entities and follow-up on implementation

Follow-up on the execution of agreed upon agreements and action plan with concerned internal and external stakeholders to ensure all agreements are properly addressed and implemented

Handle arising issues related to international taxation policy

Prepare accurate and timely periodical reports and analyses for internal and external stakeholders

Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

Help in solving escalated problems and provide needed support for junior team to ensure work is carried out in an efficient manner

Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure cases/issues are closed properly

Perform other duties as requested
People Management

Train junior staff on the different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable

Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates/ junior staff

Support junior staff or direct reports in order to execute their duties according to set policies and processes

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent is required
Experience
