Planning Head – Weaving & Processing

Job Purpose
To lead and oversee production planning for weaving and processing operations by ensuring optimum utilization of resources, on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and alignment with customer requirements. Responsible for developing and implementing effective planning strategies that improve productivity, reduce lead time, and support organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Control:

Develop, implement, and monitor production plans for weaving and processing units to ensure timely execution of orders.

Coordinate with merchandising, procurement, and production teams for order scheduling, capacity allocation, and resource planning.

Ensure effective balance between demand and capacity to minimize bottlenecks.

Monitor production targets, identify deviations, and take corrective measures.
Operational Efficiency

Optimize loom and processing machine utilization through effective planning.

Ensure efficient sequencing of production to reduce changeover time and wastage.
-
Monitor workflow, fabric availability, and processing schedules to avoid downtime.

Implement lean planning practices to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

Ensure close coordination with weaving, processing, dyeing, finishing, and quality teams.

Build strong collaboration with supply chain and procurement for timely material availability.
Monitoring & Reporting

Maintain and monitor production MIS (Management Information System).

Provide regular updates to management on production status, capacity utilization, and order fulfillment.

Track KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), production efficiency, and lead time.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvements in planning and scheduling.

Support implementation of ERP-based planning tools and automation.

Develop contingency plans to handle urgent or unexpected production requirements.

Strong knowledge of weaving (looms, greige fabric) and processing (dyeing, finishing) operations.

Qualification & Experience

Bachelor’s / Master’s in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

8–12 years of relevant experience in weaving & processing planning, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
