Planning Manager

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Manage and instruct direct reports on the daily activities of the planning department.

  • Ensure full utilization of labour and equipment, as required.

  • Provide regular process control checks and initiates and support performance improvement activities.

  • Define terminal Yard stacking strategies and sustain that to match changes within operations and customer demands to meet operations targets and productivities.

  • Measure Operations performance and in accordance with the KPI definitions as per DP world standards.

  • Automate reporting and assure all input and reporting performed through TOS.

  • Set Daily Gate Planning for assure gate flow as per Yards capabilities and workload demand between all operational activities.

  • Meet custom and other authorities requests and in accordance with the existing capabilities.

  • Seek for improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and raise effectiveness.

  • Review DG and hazards stacking plans regularly and match that with DG policies set by HSE department.

  • Report stowage issues and opportunities for shipping lines to improve efficiency and support berth window commitments.

  • Review regularly berth window agreements and propose recommendations to enhance berth utilization and open new opportunity for upcoming business.

  • Report to shipping lines deviation on of their performance on every single call and as per agreed terms on the berth window agreements.

  • Prepare weekly and Monthly analysis for all operational related activities.

  • Assure that all activities performed with plans and through TOS.

  • Coordinate with IT system maintenance schedule and other projects related to TOS.

  • Work out as focal point and coordinate projects related to TOS upgrade or any project have direct relation to TOS.

  • Coordinate with the Planning Superintendent work and staff schedules.

  • Provide supervision to subordinate staff, providing regular feedback and appraisals.

  • Have regular meetings with subordinates, giving them current company information.

  • Participate in career development for subordinates.

  • Report problems and issues to operations CT Manager.

  • Perform other related duties as requested.


Qualification and Certificates:

  • Bachelor educational degree

  • CITLP , CISCM , Six Sigma


Experience and Knowledge:

  • 7 years as planner/dispatcher

  • 6 years as planning superintendent

  • 6 years as planning manager

  • Must have thorough knowledge - not limited to -of Navis /Zodiac.

  • Must be familiar with terminal communication and data transfer systems.

  • Must be familiar with all equipment used for vessel loading and unloading, such as tractor trailer, reach stacker, quay crane, and so forth

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.

  • Excellent Leadership skills to drive planning Team and influence changes.

  • V. Good in use vessel and yard operation software system

  • Excellent Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, working with a highly diverse workforce.

  • Strong in time management, due to fast-moving, demanding work environment
