The Planning Manager is responsible for leading production planning, Master Production Scheduling (MPS), and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure optimal inventory levels, production efficiency, and on-time delivery. This role aligns demand forecasts with manufacturing capacity and supplier capabilities within the bikes manufacturing environment.
1. Master Production Scheduling (MPS)

Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on sales forecasts, confirmed orders, and production capacity.

Balance of demand and supply considering labor, machine capacity, and assembly lines.

Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure schedule feasibility.

Monitor adherence to production plans and adjust schedules when required.

Manage production priorities for different bike models (standard, premium, electric, etc.).
2. Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

Oversee MRP planning to ensure availability of raw materials and components.

Validate BOM accuracy and planning parameters.
-
Monitor material shortages and proactively resolve supply risks.

Coordinate with Procurement for supplier lead times and order releases.
-
Optimize inventory levels (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
-
Manage safety stock levels and reorder points.
3. Production & Capacity Planning

Develop short-term and long-term capacity plans.
-
Identify bottlenecks in production stations such as painting, assembly, and final operations.

Support new model launches with proper planning and material readiness.
-
Work with Engineering on production routing and efficiency improvements.
4. Inventory & KPI Management

Monitor inventory turnover and stock aging.

Control slow-moving and obsolete materials.
-
Track KPIs such as:

OTIF (On-Time In-Full)

Schedule Adherence
-
Forecast Accuracy
-
Inventory Days of Supply
-
Production Plan Attainment
5. Cross-Functional Coordination

Lead monthly S&OP meetings.

Align demand planning with supply capabilities.

Coordinate with Logistics for shipment scheduling.

Support Finance with budgeting and working capital planning.
6. Team Leadership

Manage planning team (MPS planners, MRP planners, inventory planners).

Provide training and performance management.
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain.

7–10+ years of experience in manufacturing planning.

Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.

Experience in bikes, automotive, and assembly manufacturing environment.
