Planning Team Leader

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Planning Team Leader to supervise planning engineers and ensure the development and implementation of accurate, realistic project schedules. The role involves coordinating planning activities, providing technical guidance, monitoring progress, and reporting project status and risks to senior management to support effective project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise planning engineers to ensure tasks are completed on time and meet required quality standards.
  • Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Provide continuous technical guidance and support to improve scheduling accuracy and efficiency.

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop project-specific schedules aligned with contractual timelines, milestones, and project dependencies.
  • Review, validate, and approve schedules prepared by planning engineers to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and proper resource allocation.
  • Ensure planning activities are aligned with project execution strategies and objectives.

Coordination & Communication

  • Facilitate effective coordination between planning engineers and project teams to ensure schedule alignment.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to address planning challenges and schedule risks.

Reporting & Monitoring

  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, schedule updates, and risk assessments to the Section Head.
  • Monitor project performance against approved schedules and highlight deviations, risks, and mitigation actions.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, including supervisory or team leadership responsibilities.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling methodologies and planning best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6 or similar).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
