1. Installation Work
- Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas pipelines.
- Fit and assemble pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, taps, showers, and water heaters.
- Plan plumbing layouts and interpret blueprints or technical drawings.
- Install and test sanitary systems, stormwater drains, and water storage systems.
- Connect plumbing systems to appliances like washing machines and dishwashers.
2. Maintenance & Repair
- Inspect plumbing systems for leaks, blockages, corrosion, or other issues.
- Diagnose and repair leaking pipes, clogged drains, and faulty fixtures.
- Perform preventive maintenance to avoid system breakdowns.
- Replace worn-out parts such as washers, seals, and joints.
- Clear blockages using plungers, drain rods, or mechanical equipment.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Follow local plumbing codes and safety standards.
- Ensure proper installation of backflow prevention devices and water-saving equipment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
- Test systems for leakage and pressure integrity before use.
4. Technical & Planning Tasks
- Estimate materials, labor, and time required for plumbing jobs.
- Read and interpret building plans and blueprints.
- Coordinate with electricians, builders, and site supervisors during construction or renovation.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and materials used.
5. Tools & Equipment
- Operate and maintain plumbing tools such as pipe cutters, threaders, wrenches, and welding equipment.
- Use pressure gauges, leak detectors, and flow meters to check system performance.
6. Additional Responsibilities (if applicable)
- Install and maintain water filtration systems, pumps, and hot water systems.
- Work on industrial or commercial plumbing systems.
- Provide emergency plumbing services during breakdowns or leaks.
