Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems as per specifications and plumbing codes.
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand/power tools or machines (pipe cutters, threading machines, etc.).
- Cut openings in walls, floors, and structures to accommodate pipes and fittings.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures using measuring instruments.
- Install underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems; extend piping to connect fixtures.
- Hang steel supports from ceiling joists and install pipe assemblies, valves, sinks, toilets, and related fixtures.
- Test plumbing systems by filling pipes/fixtures with water or air and observing pressure gauges to detect leaks.
- Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including replacing washers, mending pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
- Demonstrate knowledge of water heaters, relief valves, and heating elements.
- Study shop drawings, blueprints, building codes, and specifications to determine work procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- ITI certification, Diploma in Plumbing, or equivalent vocational training.
- 5–7 years hands‑on plumbing experience in UAE/GCC fit‑out, construction, or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of UAE plumbing codes, building regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in hand and power tools used in plumbing.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Able to perform manual tasks, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
