Plumber Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including water supply and drainage networks. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Performing routine preventive maintenance (PPM) and conducting inspections to identify and prevent potential plumbing issues.
- Carrying out corrective and emergency maintenance (CM/EM) repairs for leaks, blockages, damaged pipelines, and malfunctioning fixtures.
- Using appropriate diagnostic tools to accurately determine the root cause of plumbing problems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to water distribution and drainage systems.
- Executing welding, soldering, and pipe-joining works to ensure secure and durable connections.
- Applying proper installation and joining techniques for various pipe materials, including copper, PVC, PPR, HDPE, and steel.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets, toilets, showers, and water heaters to ensure optimal functionality.
- Servicing water treatment systems, including filtration and softening equipment, while addressing water quality concerns.
- Responding promptly to emergency plumbing situations such as burst pipes or major leaks and resolving urgent issues efficiently.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operating and maintaining plumbing tools and equipment to ensure productivity and high-quality workmanship.
- Reporting plumbing system issues, repair requirements, and material needs to the supervisor for effective planning.
- Providing recommendations for repairs, system enhancements, or upgrades when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records of completed tasks, including service reports, repair history, and materials or spare parts used.
- Documenting plumbing system layouts and configurations for future reference and maintenance purposes.
