We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Video Editor to join our legal tech startup in LA. This is a fantastic opportunity for an someone who is passionate about storytelling through visual content and has a keen interest in the technology and legal tech sectors. You will be working in a fast-paced startup environment, where innovation and creativity are highly valued. This is a permanent position that offers a chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and platforms.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams to understand project scope and objectives.
2. Edit raw video footage and add effects/elements to enhance motion graphics.
3. Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is visually engaging to the audience.
4. Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video editing, from raw footage to final edits.
5. Develop an overall video brand messaging strategy.
6. Stay updated with the latest editing technologies and industry's best practices to maximize efficiency.
7. Experiment with styles and techniques, including the design of graphic elements, the use of sound, and the timing of the video.
8. Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
9. Create engaging video content for platforms such as TikTok, Reels, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
10. Develop product demo videos to showcase the functionality and benefits of our tech products.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, or related field.
2. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a professional video editing role.
3. Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Figma).
4. Proficient in tools such as Rev and Kapwing.
5. Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
6. Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
7. Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing.
8. Creative mind and storytelling skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
10. Experience in the technology or legal tech sector is a plus.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
13. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
14. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
15. Passion for and understanding of social media platforms including TikTok, Reels, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
