Port Coordinator

Job Purpose:

The Port Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the smooth identification, tracking, and clearance of vehicles arriving at the port. This role involves working closely with customs officials, port authorities, and internal recovery teams to ensure timely movement and release of vehicles. The Port Coordinator acts as the main liaison at the port and plays a critical role in minimizing delays, reducing costs, and supporting overall operational efficiency.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily arrival schedules of vehicles at port terminals.
  • Physically verify vehicles based on manifests and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with port authorities and customs for swift vehicle clearance.
  • Communicate clearance status and vehicle availability to the operations control room.
  • Organize movement of released vehicles to designated yards or customer locations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of cleared and pending vehicles.

Liaison and Coordination

  • Act as the primary on-ground representative at port entry and holding yards.
  • Interface with agents, freight forwarders, and logistics teams to obtain timely delivery orders (DOs).
  • Ensure compliance with all port procedures, including documentation, tagging, and inspection.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Ensure proper documentation is submitted and received for each vehicle.
  • Generate daily reports on vehicles cleared, pending, and any exceptions or issues encountered.
  • Escalate issues impacting operations (e.g., delayed DOs, customs holds, or port congestion).

Support and Compliance

  • Ensure all vehicle movements from the port adhere to company and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist recovery team leaders in planning vehicle dispatches.
  • Participate in audits and inventory checks as required.

Education Qualification and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in logistics, port operations, or automotive transport coordination.
  • Familiarity with Dubai ports (e.g., JAFZA, Port Rashid, or DP World terminals).
  • Proficient in MS Excel, WhatsApp business communication, and mobile logistics apps.
  • UAE Driver’s License (Manual preferred) is a strong advantage.
  • Good physical fitness to walk and inspect large port yards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
