The Li lab at NYU Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Postdoctoral Associate.
This position is for a post-PhD trainee preparing for a research scientist career path. The planned position will provide a transition to career independence through the development of professional skills; supervision by senior scientist incorporating individual development plan in support of training goals and those of faculty mentor; and publication of research findings/scholarship during postdoc appointment period.
The NIH-funded projects in the Li lab focus on studying molecular mechanisms of epigenetics and chromatin organization using fission yeast
Schizosaccharomyces pombe as
a model organism. Representative publications include: Nature (2011), PMID: 21725325; Molecular Cell (2016), PMID: 27666591; Cell Reports (2016), PMID: 26832414; PNAS (2021), PMID: 34810257; PNAS (2023), PMID: 38048463; Nature Communications (2024), PMID: 38773107). Planned projects use a combination of advanced approaches, including molecular genetics, live cell imaging, biochemistry, genomics, and structural biology
, to address fundamental questions in epigenetics. Further information about our research can be found at:
