Pre-K Lead Teacher

Overview
Westhampton at Willow Lawn is the satellite campus for Westhampton Day School. Located in Richmond, Virginia, our school is year round and licensed. Our program includes a three year old classroom and a prekindergarten classroom for up to 10 students each. We are open 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. We are currently looking for a lead teacher in our PreK classroom. You would be responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans weekly, maintaining licensing standards, and communicating with parents. This is a full time position with a 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday through Friday work schedule.

Experience

• An Associates Degree or Higher in Early Childhood Education or other related field(s).
• Minimum of two years teaching experience in a school setting.

Duties

• Responsible for guiding children in activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth, preparing them for elementary school.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports Pre-K students, behavior management, and classroom management best practices.
• Monitor and assess individual student progress through ongoing observations to tailor instruction effectively.
• Manage daily classroom routines, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods, ensuring a safe and organized setting aligned with school standards and policies.
• Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, student assessments, behavior logs, and communication with parents or guardians.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
