Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and curriculum frameworks such as Montessori or other pedagogies.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, exploration, and social interaction among preschool-aged children.
- Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to schedules that support learning and play.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and emotional regulation among students.
- Incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and sensory activities into daily lessons to support comprehensive childhood development.
- Collaborate with families to communicate student progress, address individual needs—including special education or early intervention—and promote child welfare.
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments, standardized testing results, and progress reports to inform instruction and support ongoing development.
- Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in preschool care and classroom management.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with preschool or pre-kindergarten children in a licensed childcare setting or private school environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, including toddler care and behavior management techniques.
- Experience working with children who have special needs or require early intervention services is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with teaching methodologies such as Montessori or other child-centered educational approaches preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners dedicated to child welfare.
