Prepress & Production Design Operator

Position Overview

Delta Print Group is seeking a detail-oriented Prepress & Production Design Operator to prepare and review artwork for commercial print and direct mail production. This role ensures files meet technical specifications, print quality standards, and mailing requirements before entering production. You will work closely with sales, customer service, and production teams to support efficient workflow and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and prepare client artwork for print readiness (resolution, bleed, trim, color profiles, fonts).
• Create print-ready PDFs and perform preflight checks.
• Prepare files for digital and offset printing, including color conversion and imposition.
• Make minor layout edits or adjustments to customer files when needed.
• Ensure direct mail pieces meet USPS layout requirements (addressing areas, barcodes, indicia).
• Review proofs and maintain quality control before releasing jobs to production.
• Troubleshoot file issues and help keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial print, direct mail, or production design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
• Knowledge of print production workflows and color management.
• Familiarity with USPS mailing requirements and variable data printing preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Print Production, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position is an hourly, full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly rate is $22-28/hour commensurate with experience.
