Responsibilities

• Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical development for preschool and toddler-aged children.
• Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
• Engage children in hands-on activities that support childhood development milestones, including early intervention strategies when needed.
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians about children’s progress, behavior, and developmental achievements through regular updates and conferences.
• Manage classroom routines efficiently, including lesson planning, transitions, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
• Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as Montessori principles or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop new programs, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere focused on child welfare and educational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with early childhood education standards, standardized testing procedures for young learners, and literacy education practices.
• Experience with special education needs or early intervention programs is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
• Demonstrated ability to plan lessons that incorporate math, physical education, and other core subjects aligned with early childhood education principles.
• Certification in early childhood education or related fields; Montessori training or experience is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
