We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Lead Teacher to join our Montessori bilingual program, English/Spanish. ( Montessori experience preferred but not required). The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young children and be dedicated to supporting their development in a nurturing and stimulating environment. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, employing strategies to support children with diverse needs.
• Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Conduct regular assessments of student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Support children with through tailored instruction and care.
• Organize activities that promote physical, social, and emotional growth among toddlers.

Skills

• Strong experience in classroom management techniques to create an effective learning atmosphere.
• Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children.
• Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively.
• Experience working with children, including those with special education needs or disabilities.
• Proficient in preschool care practices that ensure the well-being of young learners.
• Excellent communication skills (English/Spanish) to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
• A nurturing attitude combined with patience and creativity in teaching methods.
• Previous experience in a Montessori environment and a Montessori curriculum setting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Montessori Credential Preferred but not required
• 45 hours of Child Growth and Development
• 45 hours in Preschool Curriculum (required if Lead for 3-5 year old)
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility or 30 college credits
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of various stages of social, emotional and intellectual development
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, jump, dance, walk, run, reach carry, lift 50 lbs.
• CDA certification
• 1 year minimum experience working with children

Own transportation

Hours:

Full-time job

Monday - Friday

9:00 am to 6:00 pm (1 hr. lunch)

Montessori Certification (preferred but not required)

90 hrs. Childhood Education

CCDA Certification

ADA

CPR certification

First Aid Certification

9 hrs. Communications

6 hrs. Medication Administration

Experience

Experience working with children in a Montessori setting is a plus

Minimum 1 year of experience

Pay

$20.00 -$26.00 Based on experience and certifications

• We are looking for a person that will be able to reliably commute to Germantown MD occasionally for this job
