Preschool Lead Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a key leader in early childhood education, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula that promote literacy, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills. Your role is vital in creating a safe, inclusive space where children can explore, learn, and thrive. You will collaborate with families, support classroom management, and ensure each child's individual needs are met with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods and other curriculum frameworks.
  • Create a warm, welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
  • Support children’s social-emotional development through effective behavior management strategies and personalized interventions when needed.
  • Foster literacy education through engaging activities that promote language skills, reading readiness, and early math concepts.
  • Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address concerns, and celebrate milestones in each child's development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and individualized education plans (IEPs) for children requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Demonstrate a lasting commitment to professional development and developing a foundational and continuous learning of the Reggio Emilia philosophy

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in licensed preschool setting; prior classroom management experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and teaching physical education within an early childhood context.
  • Experience implementing standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods tailored for young learners.
  • Background in special education, Montessori, and/or Reggio Emilia teaching methods is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and administration.
  • Certification or degree in early childhood education, childhood development, or a related field is required; Montessori certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
