Christian environment where children may grow socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Lead Teachers’s Job Description:
Focuses on providing a safe, loving and nurturing Christian environment for students’ ages 2, 3, or 4 years old on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week from 8:30am-12:30pm.

The Lead Teacher is expected to:

• The Lead Teacher is to manage all facets of the classroom. The primary duty of the lead teacher is to plan and conduct instruction based on developmentally appropriate practice. The teacher is accountable to the WJUMC Preschool Board.
• Other responsibilities include:
• Plan and conduct lessons in accordance with the philosophy of the program
• Be responsible for the well-fair of all children in the group
• Care of rooms and equipment
• Arrive by 8:00 am and remain until at least 1:00 pm or until the room is ready for the next day and all children have left.
• Provide monthly newsletter to communicate with families about activities and happenings each month
• Keep records as requested by the WJUMC Preschool Board
• Secure substitute teacher in advance and provide detailed lesson plans when absent
• Be available for parent conferences
• Cooperate with Sunday School teachers and others who share the rooms
• Attend staff meetings or trainings as scheduled (i.e. CPR, First Aid, etc)
• Conduct oneself at all times in a professional manner
• Keep open and clear communication with your Teacher Assistant
