Job Overview:
We are seeking a Proposal cum Business Development Engineer to lead the preparation of techno-commercial proposals and support strategic business development initiatives. This role bridges engineering expertise with customer engagement, ensuring competitive and technically sound proposals while nurturing long-term client relationships.
o Analyze customer RFQs and specifications; coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams to develop comprehensive proposals.
o Prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals, technical queries (TQs), and clarifications.
o Support estimation and pricing strategies through technical and market analysis.
o Develop execution philosophies, modularization options, and supply conditions aligned with project requirements.
o Manage pre-qualification documentation for major international clients.
o Identify new business opportunities and support early-stage engagement with potential clients.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.
o Collaborate with Sales to align proposal strategies with broader business goals.
o Conduct competitor analysis and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
- Sales & Customer Interface
o Ensure proposals meet internal guidelines on risk, profitability, and compliance.
o Liaise with legal, finance, and tax teams for proposal-related matters.
o Actively engage with customers to understand needs and propose tailored solutions.
o Support contract negotiations and assist in project handover to execution teams.
o Ensuring that all quality requirements described in the QMS manuals are followed and any changes, as necessary, are reported through change management procedure for continual improvement.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.- 8-12 years of experience in Proposal Management and Business Development preferably in the hydrocarbon or related industry handling Furnaces and/or capital equipment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Willingness to travel as required.
