Position Title: Principal Design Consultant & Manager
Department: Digital Experience Design / Product Design
Reports To: CMO

Role Summary

The Principal Design Consultant & Manager will lead and deliver exceptional UI/UX design solutions across digital products and client projects. This role requires a balance of hands-on design execution, team coordination, and effective client communication. The ideal candidate is a self-driven design professional capable of independently managing design initiatives while ensuring operational support for the design team.

Key Responsibilities Design Execution & Quality Assurance

  • Lead UI/UX design activities including research, wireframing, user flows, visual design, and prototyping.
  • Review and refine design deliverables to ensure consistency, usability, and high-quality output.
  • Maintain, evolve, and document design systems, style guides, and component libraries.

Team Coordination & Support

  • Guide designers in their daily tasks, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery.
  • Provide actionable feedback to enhance team performance, design quality, and efficiency.
  • Support resource planning, workload distribution, and task allocation under departmental leadership.

Client Interaction & Requirements Gathering

  • Participate in client discussions, requirement workshops, and design presentations.
  • Translate business, user, and functional needs into clear and actionable design tasks.
  • Manage feedback cycles proactively and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders.

Project Documentation & Estimation

  • Prepare design briefs, effort estimations, project timelines, and functional documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • Contribute to proposal creation, pitch decks, and other design-related inputs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work effectively with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery.
  • Participate in sprints, requirement workshops, internal design reviews, and cross-team ceremonies.
  • Ensure all design decisions align with technical feasibility, product vision, and business goals.

Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and modern digital design tools.
  • Strong capability in creating wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Deep understanding of design systems and component-based design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with user research approaches and usability testing.
  • Experience collaborating with developers and understanding technical constraints.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to guide and influence without formal authority.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting and mentoring junior designers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Media Sciences, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 6–9 years of experience in UI/UX or digital product design.
  • Prior experience in team coordination or leadership is an advantage.
  • Experience in an agency or consulting environment is preferred.
