Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Principal Receptionist/Patient Scheduler for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under general supervision, responsible for answering phones and routing calls, scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients. Responds to requests and questions from hospitals, patients and referring physician offices. Assists with billing activities. Provides general office support.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Greets and directs patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner to appropriate areas at the Eric B. Chandler Health Center.
- Answers/screens telephone calls, makes call, and takes messages.
- Schedules and maintains appointments through the Practice Management scheduling (IDX) program. Assures appointment scheduling is completed in accordance with the criteria of the practice. Acts as a liaison in scheduling patients from Robert Wood Johnson University (RWJUH) for appointments at the Health Center.
- Utilizes computer to process full registration information for new/established patients at every visit. Completes new/established patient’s demographics, emergency contact and insurance information in the Program Management System. Ensures referral is verified where appropriate. All collected information along with required forms will be scanned in the EMR (Electronic Medical Record).
- Responsible for generating new schedules or daily reports.
