Probate Attorney (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Probate Attorney with experience in probate administration and litigation. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, empathetic, and comfortable managing both uncontested probate matters and contested estate disputes. The position is available full-time or part-time, either remotely or in person.

Responsibilities

Draft and file probate pleadings, petitions, motions, and related court documents.
Manage estate administration, including communications with the court, executors, and beneficiaries.
Represent clients in probate hearings, contested matters, and estate litigation.
Provide legal advice regarding probate procedures, fiduciary duties, and estate administration.
Handle disputes involving will contests, trust litigation, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and inheritance disputes.
Conduct legal research and draft briefs, discovery requests, and settlement proposals.
Participate in regular firm meetings to review case progress and coordinate strategy with the team.
Work collaboratively with support staff and attorneys to ensure efficient delivery of services.
Communicate frequently and professionally with clients to keep them informed of the status of their matters.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active license to practice law in the State of Texas.

  • Demonstrated experience in probate law, estate administration, and contested probate litigation.
  • Strong writing and drafting skills with proven experience preparing motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Proficiency in legal research utilizing platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills with a record of successful settlements or favorable case outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
