The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing plant performance, with a strong focus on thermal processes, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability. Positioned at the interface between production and technical management, the role combines hands-on shop floor activities with data-driven performance analysis and digitalization initiatives.
The Process Engineer also plays a key role in supporting cultural transformation at the plant by developing operator training, building standards, and fostering a mindset of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- The Process Engineer monitors and analyzes plant KPIs such as OEE, OEI, and failure codes.
- Conducts thermal studies of furnaces and evaluates overall plant energy performance.
- Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective actions to improve process reliability.
- Leads optimization projects targeting both equipment efficiency and operational performance.
Lean & Continuous Improvement
- In coordination with Opex Manager, Leads Lean initiatives such as SMED, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
- Supports major transformation projects, contributing to a culture of operational excellence.
- Works actively on the shop floor to identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
Digitalization & Data-Driven Decisions
- Develops and maintains performance dashboards and KPIs using corporate digital tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Translates production data into actionable insights for management and operations.
- Supports automation and robotics deployment to improve efficiency and transparency.
Training & Change Management
- Prepares and maintains training documentation for operators (e.g., robot operation, first-level TPM).
- Conducts training sessions to build operator capabilities and encourage a performance-driven mindset.
- Acts as a change agent to drive cultural transformation toward safety, efficiency, and ownership.
Safety, Quality & Standards
- Ensures that all process improvements are aligned with safety requirements and risk reduction.
- Supports the plant’s transition to high-end markets by improving quality standards.
- Develops, implements, and communicates operational standards across the plant.
Promotes a strong culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
Qualifications & Skills
- Engineering degree (mandatory).
- Fluency in English, written and spoken (mandatory).
- Analytical skills with proficiency in IT tools and KPI monitoring systems (e.g., Power BI).
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work directly with production teams.
- Experience in heavy industry or large-scale manufacturing (preferred).
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Safety- and improvement-driven mindset with a focus on quality and performance.
