Overview

To ensure the continuous and efficient functioning of the production processing line to IPS standards.

Responsibilities

  • Verify inputs: potato lot, oil quality & level, seasoning batch preparation & calibration.
  • Confirm setpoints: slicing thickness, fryer temp & belt speed, tumbler speed, seasoning application rate & recipe.
  • Complete Safety checks: LOTO readiness, guarding, PPE, spill kits, emergency stops, eyewash stations.
  • Maintain rated speed to meet BE, NE & TE targets; escalate issues proactively.
  • Record runtime/downtime (technical vs. non-technical) to drive TE/NE improvements.
  • Monitor fryer: oil temperature (± tolerance), flow, level and oil quality (FFA/PV); adjust dosing and filtration to sustain Oil Efficiency.
  • Ensure seasoning system calibration; verify application rate and coverage uniformity through frequent checks and corrective actions to achieve Seasoning Efficiency.
  • Conduct Quality weak link checks each hour: visual defects, color, blistering, breakage, salt/seasoning coverage.
  • Execute sampling & PAE (attributes and variables) and record results in QMS forms. Maintain stringent GMPs: hygiene, allergen control, cross-contamination prevention, line sanitation during micro-stops.
  • Follow LOTO, hot oil handling SOPs, and PPE requirements at all times.
  • Keep work area clean and dry; promptly address oil drips/spills and seasoning dust to prevent slips and contamination.
  • Report hazards and near-misses; participate in daily Safety Gemba.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electronics.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
