To lead the end-to-end sourcing and procurement process for high-value categories, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining compliance with organizational procurement procedures, category management frameworks, and QHSE standards. The Category Lead supports both operational needs and CAPEX projects through structured and efficient procurement strategies.


Key Responsibilities will Include:

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories in alignment with business and operational requirements.
  • Manage high-value procurement activities including tendering, bid evaluations (technical & commercial), negotiations, and contract finalization.
  • Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, vendor selection criteria, and contracting protocols.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Finance to define technical specifications, resolve procurement challenges, and support planning.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with key suppliers; conduct regular performance reviews and address underperformance issues.
  • Ensure procurement data accuracy in the ERP system, including Purchase Requests (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and contract milestones.
  • Oversee procurement for CAPEX projects, including sourcing of critical spares and equipment for planned outages.
  • Track market dynamics and supply trends to identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
  • Generate procurement dashboards, reports, and KPIs to monitor category performance and supplier delivery.
  • Mentor junior procurement staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.


Who we’re looking for:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years’ working experience within engineering and power plant operations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software’s.
  • Professional certifications (e.g. CIPS, CSCP, PMP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of legal, regulatory and compliance requirements in procurement, supply chain.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must have Arabic and English proficiency.
