Job Description:
Avesoro is seeking a highly skilled
Procurement Engineer
to join our dynamic team. As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating and optimizing activities related to the procurement of raw materials. Your responsibilities include acting as the technical lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in negotiations with suppliers to obtain favorable prices, terms, and conditions. Additionally, you will manage lead times and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and acceptance per quality requirements.

Work closely with project stakeholders to understand procurement requirements for mining and construction projects.

Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and suppliers capable of meeting project specifications.

Negotiation Skills:
Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors.

Supplier Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring a reliable and responsive supply chain.

Procurement Process Streamlining:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement processes, ensuring agility and responsiveness to project needs.

Budget Adherence:
Work closely with project managers and finance teams to align procurement activities with budgetary constraints.

Contract Administration:
Oversee the administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

Risk Mitigation:
Identify potential risks in procurement processes and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project timelines are maintained.

Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Geology, Metallurgy, Materials, or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in procurement management within the mining sector.

SAP Proficiency:
Proficient in SAP; experience with system integration is preferred.

Strong negotiation skills with a focus on securing favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.

Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing procurement strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in negotiation and vendor relationship management.
