Procurement Engineer
Job Description:
The selected candidate has to work within our team in the assigned projects and services to ensure all deliverables are delivered as per the Procurement Plan requirements (Timeline, Pricing, Documentation... etc.).
Responsibilities & Core Competencies:
Procurement Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project timelines and budgets.
- Work with project team to understand material, equipment, and service requirements.
- Prepare procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery of all necessary materials and services.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers and take corrective actions when necessary.
Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
- Prepare purchase orders in accordance with company policies and project requirements.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Cost Management:
- Monitor and control procurement costs to ensure alignment with project budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Prepare cost reports and provide regular updates to project manager and senior management.
Quality Assurance:
- Work closely with quality control team to ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet required quality standards.
- Work with quality control team to resolve any issues related to material defects or non-conformance.
- Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Logistics and Delivery Coordination:
- Coordinate the logistics and delivery of materials to project sites.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery to avoid project delays.
- Address any delivery issues promptly and implement corrective measures as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier correspondence.
- Prepare and present procurement reports to management as required.
- Ensure compliance with all company documentation and reporting standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project manager and other stakeholders to ensure that procurement aligns with project requirements.
- Provide technical support and advice to project teams regarding procurement-related matters.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers and internal teams to keep them informed of procurement status and any potential issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is required.
- A minimum 5 years of experience in within the construction industry in the UAE.
- The successful candidate will ideally need to have Abu Dhabi specific experience and knowledge of procedures and government processes.
- Command of the Arabic language would be advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
