Procurement Engineer

The Role

• Manage procurement of construction materials, equipment, for building projects. • Review project drawings, BOQs, and specifications to identify procurement requirements. • Prepare and issue request for quotations (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors. • Evaluate supplier quotations based on technical compliance, cost, delivery time, and quality. • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and planning teams to ensure timely material delivery. • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. • Prepare purchase orders and procurement reports. • Track and monitor material delivery schedules to avoid project delays. • Ensure procured materials comply with project specifications and quality standards. • Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team for proper material handling and inventory management. • Assist in cost control and budget monitoring for procurement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. • 3–6 years of experience in procurement for building construction projects. • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supplier markets. • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, BOQs, and specifications. • Experience in procurement processes, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation. • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement tasks. • Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, or high-rise building projects. • Knowledge of local construction material suppliers and market pricing.
