Job description:
The Procurement Specialist - Electronics is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply chain of electronic components, products, and systems. The role includes vendor selection, negotiation, order processing, inventory management, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing to meet the organization's needs for electronic goods and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing & Vendor Management:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers of electronic products, components, and systems.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure the best value.
- Ensure that suppliers meet quality, delivery, and compliance standards.
2. Procurement Process:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying needs to order placement and delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand requirements and timelines for electronic goods.
- Ensure timely delivery of products in alignment with project schedules.
3. Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee the inventory of electronic goods, components, and materials.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid production delays.
- Track shipments and ensure they arrive in good condition and on time.
- Analyze market conditions and make recommendations to optimize procurement strategy.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Monitor procurement budgets and work to reduce costs without compromising on quality.
- Track and report on cost savings, procurement KPIs, and supplier performance.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and other necessary procurement documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including supplier performance and inventory.
6. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to understand technical specifications and product requirements.
- Provide support in resolving issues related to product quality, delivery, or specifications.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in procurement, specifically in electronics or technology-related products.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
