Procurement & Logistics Executive in a Water and Wastewater Treatment Company:
1. Procurement Management
- Source and procure equipment, chemicals, and materials required for STP, ETP, RO, and ZLD projects.
- Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, price, and delivery reliability.
- Obtain quotations, compare costs, negotiate terms, and finalize purchase orders.
- Maintain updated vendor database and evaluate vendor performance periodically.
- Ensure all procurement complies with company policies, budgets, and project timelines.
2. Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory of critical spares, chemicals, and consumables.
- Monitor stock levels, initiate purchase requests, and avoid material shortages or overstocking.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement effective material storage, handling, and tracking systems.
3. Logistics & Material Handling
- Coordinate transportation of equipment and materials from vendors to project sites.
- Ensure timely delivery and safe handling of goods.
- Track shipments, manage customs/clearance if required, and resolve delivery delays.
- Liaise with transporters, warehouses, and site teams for smooth logistics operations.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain procurement records, purchase orders, delivery challans, and invoices.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing budgets, cost reports, and procurement schedules.
- Maintain vendor agreements, certifications, and technical documents.
5. Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with project, engineering, and finance teams for procurement and logistics needs.
- Follow up with suppliers for quotations, deliveries, and quality approvals.
- Assist project teams during commissioning and installation by ensuring materials are available on time.
6. Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or Engineering.
- 2–5 years’ experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in water/wastewater or process plants.
- Knowledge of material sourcing, vendor management, and inventory control.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software for procurement and inventory tracking.
