Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Executive with exceptional analytical ability and advanced negotiating tactics to support strategic asset purchases across the transportation, vegetation management, and utility sectors. This role requires a results-driven professional capable of managing complex contract negotiations with both customers and vendors, optimizing asset acquisition strategies, and ensuring operational efficiency through high-value procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Asset Procurement & Strategy
Lead end-to-end procurement of assets such as fleet vehicles, specialized equipment, vegetation management machinery, and utility-related operational tools.
Analyze asset lifecycle costs, performance metrics, and market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
Develop procurement strategies that reduce cost, improve service levels, and support long-term organizational growth.
Evaluate and improve asset utilization through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration.
Contract Negotiation & Relationship Management
Drive negotiation of high-value contracts with both vendors (OEMs, distributors, service providers) and customers (contract clients, strategic partners).
Establish contract terms that maximize value, mitigate risk, and align with budget and operational requirements.
Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing, reliable supply, and favorable service agreements.
Collaborate with legal, finance, operations, and compliance teams to finalize contract terms.
Financial & Market Analysis
Conduct rigorous financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI assessments for all major procurement decisions.
Track market fluctuations in transportation, vegetation management, and utility-sector equipment to inform timing and strategy.
Develop analytics dashboards, forecasting models, and spend reports to support executive decision-making.
Operational Excellence
Implement procurement best practices, including competitive bidding, supplier scorecards, and category-management strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and internal procurement policies.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement workflow, cost control, and vendor performance.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPSM/CSCP certification preferred.
Skills and Competencies
5+ years of procurement experience, ideally within transportation, vegetation management, utilities, or heavy-equipment sectors.
Proven track record of negotiating complex contracts with both suppliers and customers.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Expertise in asset purchasing, capital equipment sourcing, or fleet procurement highly preferred.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations.
18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Meet all physical requirements of the position.
Preferred
Advanced negotiation training or certification.
Experience with procurement software, ERP systems, or spend-analytics platforms.
Knowledge of regulatory standards related to transportation and utility operations.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
This role is based in an office environment with occasional remote work flexibility. The position may require
limited travel.
