Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to oversee the company’s purchasing activities. The role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating with vendors, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality sourcing of goods and services. The ideal candidate should possess strong negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills, with a thorough understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage effective procurement strategies to support business objectives.
- Source, identify, and evaluate reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and legal requirements.
- Prepare, review, and process purchase orders, contracts, and agreements.
- Collaborate with internal departments (finance, operations, projects, etc.) to forecast demand and plan procurement needs.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, budgets, and supplier information.
- Monitor market trends, analyse costs, and identify opportunities for savings.
- Manage procurement risks and resolve supplier-related issues.
- Optimize inventory levels and reduce procurement-related expenses.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the procurement team to achieve departmental targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, procurement processes, and supply chain management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage budgets and make data-driven decisions.
- Leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
