About the Role

As Procurement Manager for indirect materials and services, you will be responsible for establishing and optimizing procurement operations for our new Austin facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will manage all non-production spending including maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, facility services, IT equipment, and professional services. This role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier relationship management expertise, and the ability to build procurement processes from the ground up. You will work closely with maintenance, facilities, IT, and finance teams to ensure cost-effective, compliant procurement that supports 24/7 manufacturing operations..

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect materials and services (MRO supplies, facility services, IT equipment, professional services)

· Lead supplier negotiations and contract management to achieve cost savings and favorable terms

· Analyze spending data to identify cost reduction opportunities and support budget planning

· Manage supplier selection, evaluation, and performance for indirect purchases

· Conduct RFP/RFQ processes and negotiate master service agreements

· Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve performance issues

· Establish procurement policies, procedures, and approval workflows for the new facility

· Ensure compliance with company standards, audit requirements, and ethical sourcing practices

· Implement and manage e-procurement systems to streamline purchasing

· Partner with maintenance, facilities, IT, and finance teams to understand and fulfill procurement needs

· Support 24/7 manufacturing operations with responsive procurement services

· Coordinate with China headquarters on global procurement alignment

· Optimize MRO inventory levels and implement vendor-managed inventory programs

· Develop contingency plans for critical supplies and services

· Mitigate supply chain risks through strategic sourcing

· Other tasks assigned by Plant Manager

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field

· 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably in manufacturing

· Strong negotiation skills with proven cost savings achievements

· Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) and e-procurement platforms

· Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

· Analytical mindset with ability to interpret spending data

· Flexibility to support urgent procurement needs

· Willingness to travel occasionally

Preferred

· Automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier experience

· Professional certifications (CPSM, CIPS, CPM, or PMP)

· Experience with startup or greenfield operations

· Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin

· Familiarity with MRO and facilities services procurement

· Knowledge of Lean procurement and continuous improvement methodologies

Pay: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
