Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Summary

Harris Silicones and Glass Pvt Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to manage sourcing, purchasing, and supply of materials required for production and operations. The role focuses on cost-effective procurement, supplier coordination, inventory support, and compliance with company policies.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for raw materials, consumables, and services.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely supplier confirmations.
  • Maintain approved vendor lists and monitor supplier performance.

Cost & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with production and planning teams to monitor inventory levels.
  • Forecast material requirements and plan procurement accordingly.
  • Control procurement costs and ensure optimal stock availability.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Control department for inspection and approvals.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and SOPs.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain complete procurement records including POs, invoices, GRNs, and contracts.
  • Prepare procurement and vendor performance reports.
  • Support budget monitoring and cost analysis.

Coordination & Follow-ups

  • Liaise with Production, Stores, Logistics, and Finance departments.
  • Follow up on deliveries and resolve supply delays or discrepancies.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Odoo preferred).
  • Good analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
