Job Summary
The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers to ensure the organization obtains high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. The role involves negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, overseeing purchase processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and select vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
- Manage vendor payments in coordination with the finance department.
- Analyze supplier proposals and market trends to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Resolve procurement-related issues such as delivery delays or quality concerns.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Support budgeting and cost analysis to maximize return on investment (ROI).
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
- Analytical skills with experience in cost analysis and budgeting.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management principles.
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), e-procurement systems, and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (preferred).
