Procurement Officer Joinery-Fitout

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer with at least 5 years of UAE experience in the joinery and interior fit-out industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring a wide range of materials including sanitaryware, tiles, consumables, electrical materials, FF&E, fabrics, and joinery-related items. The role requires strong market knowledge, vendor management skills, and the ability to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials such as:
  • Sanitaryware & Tiles
  • Electrical & Consumable materials
  • FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment)
  • Fabrics, Upholstery, and Soft Furnishings
  • Timber, Veneers, MDF, and other Joinery raw materials
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships; evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
  • Prepare purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure materials are delivered on time and meet project specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers, interior designers, and site teams to understand material requirements and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and project budgets.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, new materials, and alternative suppliers in the UAE and GCC.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and work closely with the storekeeper to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audits and project handovers.
  • Support the preparation of material submittals and technical data sheets when required.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years UAE experience in procurement for interior fit-out and joinery projects.
  • Strong knowledge of local suppliers and UAE market for related materials.
  • Proven ability to source high-quality materials at competitive prices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or equivalent).
  • Ability to handle multiple procurement orders and manage urgent requirements under pressure.
  • Valid UAE Driving License (preferred).

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with hospitality, commercial, or high-end residential fit-out projects.
  • Knowledge of international procurement/import procedures.
  • Familiarity with LEED / sustainability standards in material selection.
