The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of materials, equipment, and services required for marine operations
job Description:
Source and procure marine equipment, spare parts, and services (e.g., engines, navigation systems, safety gear).
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.
Manage supplier relationships and performance.
Ensure compliance with maritime standards and regulations (e.g., IMO, ISO).
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with operations and maintenance teams.
Prepare purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure on-time arrival.
Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Handle import/export documentation and logistics for international shipments.
Maintain procurement records and generate reports.
Collaborate with finance for budgeting and cost control.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marine Engineering, or related field.
2-5 years of procurement experience (preferably in marine, shipping, or offshore industries).
Strong knowledge of marine equipment and suppliers.
Familiarity with maritime regulations and standards.
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
