The Procurement Officer / Quantity Surveyor will manage all procurement activities while ensuring accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and supplier coordination. The candidate must be capable of reading, understanding, and extracting quantities directly from AutoCAD drawings and 2D layouts, supporting both procurement and commercial functions.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Purchasing
- Source, negotiate, and finalize suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers (local & international).
- Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations, prepare comparison sheets, and issue LPOs.
- Track material delivery schedules and ensure timely procurement aligned with project timelines.
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications and consultant approvals.
- Maintain and develop supplier database and long-term vendor relationships.
Quantity Surveying, AutoCAD & Cost Control
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from AutoCAD and 2D drawings.
- Review architectural, interior, joinery, and finishing drawings to extract BOQs.
- Prepare and update BOQs, cost breakdowns, estimates, and budgeting sheets.
- Support tendering, pricing submissions, and commercial proposals.
- Conduct price analysis, value engineering, and cost optimization.
- Verify subcontractor quotations, supplier invoices, and work done against drawings.
- Assist in variations, change orders, and financial impact assessments.
Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain procurement logs, BOQ records, tracking sheets, and cost reports.
- Coordinate closely with design team, site team, accounts, warehouse, and project management.
- Ensure structured filing of drawings, quotations, approvals, POs, delivery notes, and invoices.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Architecture / Construction Management.
- 4–7 years’ experience in procurement and QS within:
- Interior Design
- Fit-Out
- Construction industry (GCC experience preferred)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and 2D drawings interpretation.
- Experience in finishes, joinery, furniture, lighting, flooring, sanitary, and interior materials.
- Strong supplier network in Qatar / GCC preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and cost control skills.
