MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION: الغرض من المسمى الوظيفي:

  • Source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, equipment, and services essential for polymer manufacturing operations.
  • Optimize procurement processes and support business objectives through working closely with plant operations, finance, and suppliers too.

DUTIES: المهام الوظيفية:

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials (e.g., polymers, chemicals, additives), spare parts, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) items.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and performance reviews.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) in compliance with company policies and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to ensure uninterrupted supply.
  • Expedite orders and resolve delays in coordination with logistics and suppliers.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
  • Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, legal regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases.
  • Work with plant operations, finance, and quality teams to align procurement with production needs and financial goals.
  • Support new product development by sourcing specialized materials as required.

  • Supply Chain Disruptions – Mitigate risks related to material shortages, geopolitical factors, or logistics delays by identifying alternative suppliers or contingency plans.
  • Cost Fluctuations
    Address volatile raw material prices through strategic agreements and hedging (if applicable).
  • Quality Issues – Collaborate with quality teams to resolve supplier-related material defects or non-compliance.
  • Lead Time Management – Balance urgent procurement needs with cost efficiency without compromising production schedules
  • Time management– Meet deadlines under pressure.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: المهارات والكفاءات:

  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of polymer raw materials (e.g., resins, additives) and industrial procurement practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis (Excel, Power BI) for spend analysis and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: المؤهلات و الخبرات:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing (chemicals, polymers, or related industries).
  • Proficiency with ERP Systems, accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Tally, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience in inventory and cost accounting.
  • Familiarity with Omani tax and regulatory requirements.
