Purpose
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing procurement activities that support the organization's operations. This role ensures that goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Role and Responsibilities
The Procurement Specialist manages the procurement process from identifying sourcing needs to ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services.
Supplier Sourcing and Relationship Management
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure the best value for the organization.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and long-term partnerships.
Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Manage bidding processes and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines through strategic sourcing practices.
Contract and Compliance Management
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Review and manage supplier contracts and agreements.
- Monitor supplier compliance and contractual obligations.
Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination
- Track and monitor deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Identify and resolve supply chain issues to support uninterrupted operations.
Collaboration Across Departments
- Work closely with finance, operations, and production teams.
- Align procurement decisions with organizational goals, budgets, and operational needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively manage suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical and data management skills to evaluate quotes, track orders, and assess supplier performance.
- Experience with procurement software and ERP systems for efficient purchasing and reporting.
