Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and managing the supply of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for modular building projects within the oil and gas industry. The role ensures timely procurement of high-quality products and services while maintaining cost efficiency, compliance with project specifications, company policies, and industry standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors for modular building and oil & gas projects.
- Source materials such as structural steel, insulation, wall panels, HVAC systems, electrical components, plumbing materials, and specialized oil & gas equipment.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and purchase orders.
- Analyze supplier quotations and conduct commercial and technical bid evaluations.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and contract conditions.
Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors and strategic suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery reliability, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct supplier audits and evaluations when required.
- Maintain an approved vendor list in accordance with company procedures.
Project Procurement Support
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, production, and QA/QC teams to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules.
- Review material requisitions, technical specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Track procurement status and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
- Expedite critical materials and resolve supply chain issues to prevent project delays.
Contract & Compliance Management
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
- Review and manage purchase agreements, framework agreements, and subcontractor contracts.
- Support procurement documentation and maintain accurate records for audits and project closeouts.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
- Monitor procurement budgets and support cost forecasting activities.
- Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, supplier performance reports, and procurement KPIs.
- Support inventory optimization and material planning initiatives.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 7-11 years of procurement experience in the oil & gas, modular construction, EPC, manufacturing, or industrial projects sector.
- Experience procuring materials and services for modular buildings, prefabricated structures, or oil & gas facilities is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with modular building materials and oil & gas project requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar procurement software.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.
