We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management, and experience with various procurement systems.
Duties
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to contract management, ensuring compliance with company policies and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, manufacturing, and quality management to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS for procurement management, materials management, and production planning.
- Implement category management strategies to optimize purchasing decisions across various product lines.
- Perform root cause analysis on supply chain issues to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure consistent quality and delivery of products.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, pricing trends, and supplier performance metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management with a strong understanding of purchasing processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract negotiation and management.
- Knowledge of materials management, logistics, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with MRP principles and quality management practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
