Product Development Executive(F&B)

Role Overview

The F&B Product Development Executive is responsible for transforming creative ideas

and brand direction into tangible, high-quality F&B products, packaging, and store

experiences. This role bridges the creative vision of the Founder with procurement,

kitchen, and operations to ensure all new products — from pastries to retail items — are

developed with the right concept, quality, and brand alignment.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of food innovation, product presentation,

and packaging trends within the premium café and retail bakery space. They combine

creativity with structured follow-up and strong supplier coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product & Concept Development

- Translate creative ideas and directions from the Founder into clear product briefs

(desserts, beverages, packaging, and gifting items).

- Research global and regional F&B trends, ingredients, packaging formats, and

presentation styles aligned with Fold’s brand identity.

- Collaborate with the kitchen and operations team to ensure product feasibility, taste

testing, and scalability.

- Develop moodboards, visual references, and product concepts for management

approval.

2. Sampling & Quality Development

- Manage the sampling process end-to-end: contacting suppliers, requesting samples,

following up, and evaluating quality.

- Coordinate and document food product testing and tasting sessions with the kitchen.

- Work with freelance designers or internal creative partners on packaging prototypes

and visuals.

- Prepare sample evaluation reports and recommendations for final approval.

- Ensure all samples meet Fold’s creative and quality standards before moving to

production.

3. Supplier Coordination & Costing Support

- Liaise with the Procurement Department to obtain quotations, negotiate minimums, and

align delivery timelines.

- Consolidate supplier options and maintain a development tracker of all active and

completed projects.

- Ensure approved items are fully documented and ready for production handover.

4. Documentation & Handover

- Create and maintain product specification sheets, packaging details, and approved

vendor lists.

- Coordinate with operations and kitchen teams to prepare new product launch

checklists.

- Maintain an archive of all product and packaging developments for future replication.

5. Research & Brand Alignment

- Stay updated on market innovations (regionally and globally) across cafés, patisseries,

and lifestyle F&B brands.

- Present creative proposals for seasonal launches, store concepts, and packaging

refreshes.

- Ensure every developed item reflects Fold’s aesthetic, story, and customer experience.

Key Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Product Development, Design, or

related field.

- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in product or packaging development within F&B,

hospitality, or retail food brands.

- Strong understanding of F&B trends, materials, and packaging innovation.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills.

- Strong aesthetic and creative sense aligned with Fold’s modern yet culturally rooted

brand.

- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable using design/moodboard tools (e.g.,

Canva, PowerPoint, Notion).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: QAR9,000.00 - QAR10,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Doha: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)
