Product Manager – PVC Electrical Conduit & Fittings
Position Summary
The Product Manager for PVC Electrical Conduit & Fittings is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and lifecycle management of a portfolio that includes PVC conduit and associated fittings. This role ensures products meet customer needs, comply with industry standards, and drive profitable growth in commercial, residential, utility, and industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop and execute the long-term product strategy for PVC conduit and fittings.
- Identify market trends, technology shifts, and growth opportunities.
- Benchmark competitive offerings and maintain portfolio differentiation.
- Ensure product lineup complies with standards and local regulatory standards.
2. New Product Development (NPD) & Innovation
- Lead new product development projects from concept through launch.
- Define product requirements, performance criteria, materials, and testing protocols.
- Partner with engineering, R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams to develop and validate designs.
- Support obtaining or maintaining listings and third-party certifications.
3. Portfolio Lifecycle Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of PVC conduit and fitting SKUs—launch, maintenance, optimization, and phase-out.
- Continuously monitor product quality, warranty trends, material performance, and customer feedback.
- Lead cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives, including tooling optimization and resin/material changes.
- Maintain accurate product data, drawings, datasheets, and installation documentation.
4. Pricing, Profitability & Business Analytics
- Analyze costs, manufacturing inputs (e.g., resin pricing), and supply-chain constraints.
- Develop pricing strategy to achieve margin, revenue, and competitive targets.
- Build financial models and business cases for new products or capacity investments.
5. Sales, Marketing & Channel Support
- Create product positioning, value propositions, and competitive differentiators.
- Develop marketing materials—brochures, spec sheets, catalogs, training decks, and digital content.
- Train sales teams and support customer presentations, product demos, and distributor programs.
- Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, trade shows, and product launches.
6. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the central point of contact between engineering, operations, supply chain, procurement, finance, and sales.
- Ensure manufacturing readiness, inventory planning, and on-time product availability.
- Coordinate cross-functional alignment for NPD, quality improvements, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials) or related technical field; business degree accepted with strong technical aptitude.
- 3–7+ years of product management, engineering, or technical marketing experience in electrical, construction, piping, or industrial components.
- Strong understanding of PVC conduit types and electrical raceway applications.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ASTM standards for PVC).
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
