About the Role

We are looking for a product manager – Ironmongery and hardware to drive the growth and profitability of our Ironmongery & Hardware category by identifying market opportunities, shaping product strategies, and leading end-to-end category management. You will be responsible from concept to market launch, oversee product development, pricing, and positioning to ensure competitive advantage. You will Partner with sales, sourcing, and quality teams to deliver innovative, high-performing products that meet customer needs and achieve Group objectives.

Key Responsibility -

  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify category growth opportunities.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives. Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product.
  • Obtain product market share by working with Group Sales Directors to develop product sales strategies. Facilitate the development of sales tools and collateral.
  • Assess product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results. Brief and train the sales teams at regular intervals.
  • Determine product pricing by utilising market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customised orders.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sourcing, Quality, Production and Technical teams to ensure product specifications, standards and target costs are clearly defined. Visit factories to understand production capabilities and facilitate sample and commercial production.
  • Introduce a product lifecycle management approach to proactively address product performance and feed relevant actions back into the product development cycle.
  • Define category vision and develop short, medium, and long-term plans for product introduction, evolution, and retirement.
  • Support Project Sales teams with visits to Designers, Architects and Developers.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in developing and supporting teams. Able to recognise potential, provide clear direction, and create an environment where people can perform at their best.

  • Strong understanding of the building materials industry, with expertise in ironmongery and hardware products in the Middle East.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and market analysis capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and factory production processes.
  • Very comfortable using reports, presentations and other analytic tools. Must be highly computer literate.
  • Ability to multi-task and break down complex problems into manageable elements.
  • Results focused, ambitious and highly organised.
  • Flexibility to travel worldwide, interculturally sensitive and open minded.
  • Calm under pressure and naturally suited to a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
