Production and Material Planner

The Role:
The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules for each department to meet inventory minimums and monthly sales forecasts while ensuring parts availability. This role manages the timing and prioritization of finished goods and coordinates the on-time delivery of supporting components required to execute the schedule, with the goal of preventing production interruptions due to material shortages. The position also supports operational objectives by maintaining minimum inventory levels, enabling dropship fulfillment within one day and stocking orders within one week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules across all departments to sustain target finished-goods inventory levels and align output with forecasted demand
  • Sequence production orders to minimize changeover times and maximize efficiency.
  • Analyze inventory levels and lead times to calculate component out-of-stock dates and reorder points for all component-level items.
  • Identify and communicate potential production delays ahead of time and pivot the schedule as needed to maintain a smooth production flow.
  • Analyze the sales team's forecast to understand the production demand required to meet the forecast.
  • Analyze production capacity to ensure the schedule is realistic and efficient.
  • Proficient in navigating through NetSuite to understand production component needs.
  • Continuously improve the production/material planning process.
  • Promptly communicate purchased part shortages to purchasing as needed.
  • Aid in implementing continuous improvement projects that result in an improvement to safety, quality, and/or production.

What It Takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred) and Google Sheets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, sales, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and the ability to prioritize and follow through under deadline pressure.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
